David Lee Roth Cancels Majority of Summer Tour Dates

David Lee Roth has cancelled a handful of upcoming live performances this summer.

The former Van Halen frontman was scheduled to appear at venues like Louisville’s Iroquois Amphitheater, Astro Amphitheater in Nebraska, and The Edge Pavilion in Laughlin on the “Don’t Love Me, Rent Me” tour, though the dates were quietly taken down from Roth’s schedule last week. The only remaining upcoming performance is a gig at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on August 7.

Roth has not publicly commented on the cancellations at this time.

Sammy Hager, who later denied Van Halen, took to social need and publicly addressed Roth, noting that he received a call from Michael Anthony about the tour getting cancelled and “I wanna say from the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry.”

“I hope you’re well,” Hager said. “I got there’s not a physical problem.”

“Honestly, Mike and I love the fact that you’ve been out there doing it, supporting the great band in the world that we were both part of,” he continued. “And yeah, I’m really sorry. That’s fucked up. Supporting what we did in this band to keep the music alive. You and I, Mikey, Al, Ed cannot be replaced. So, when you’re ready to carry on, you go, brother. Mike and I support you.”

Hager also extended an invitation for Roth to join him in Vegas during a residency this September.

“Come on, join us,” Hager said. “Sing a couple songs, MC the damn show. Come out and just do what the fuck you do — which is pretty damn entertaining! Anyway, hope you’re well. I really do. God bless, brother.”
